Title: i-bays accessibility
Post by: Archangel on July 15, 2005, 06:39:27 AM
why do I have to supply a logon name and password to access an i-bay that was configured as follows:

Information bay name = publicaccess
Group = everyone
User access via file sharing or user ftp = write=everyone, read =everyone
public access via web or anonymous ftp = local network (no password required)
Dynamic contents = disabled

I double clicked "my network places" and "publicaccess" is visible.  When I double click it to gain access, the logon window and password appears.  What am I doing wrong?  Please help.

Does it work when you actually enter a username and password?

Yes it does let me access the i-bays, however, I should not have to supply a logon or password.  It's kinda defeating the purpose of accessibility for everyone in my LAN.

Please provide as much details as possible. Are you trying to access html or files. Does it do the same for both?

- SME vesion
- Contribs
- Modifications etc

Try to disable and enable the access rights of the ibay to see what happens
