Title: Booting SMP Kernel by default
Post by: ki11er on July 24, 2005, 08:15:55 AM
Hi All

I've browsed the forums looking for how to change the default boot kernel. I cam across a post that said I needed to edit one of the templates in:

/etc/e-smith/templates/etc/lilo.conf

However, when looking at the files in the directory, I can't see how to modify the default boot option.

I need to modify my system to boot the SMP kernel by default.

If someone could please point me in the right direction, I would be grateful.

you need to expand the template after you make changes.

#make your changes by editing lilo.conf
vi lilo.conf
#expand the template
/sbin/e-smith/expand-template /etc/lilo.conf
#check for errors
lilo
#reboot to check
/sbin/e-smith/signal-event reboot
