Title: Newsreader for linux
Post by: vince on August 03, 2005, 03:00:38 PM
Hi

I am running a SME server for some time now and I want to extend its functionality a bit.

On my pc which is behind the SME gateway, I am using a newsreader to access some binary newsgroups. I have to update these groups every so much time to get all the necessary articles, especially when I am away for some days/weeks. I was thinking why don't I use my server for this kind of 'work', because this server is running all the time.

So my question is does anyone know a good newsreader for a SME server, which can update itself regularly?

A different solution could be to install a Leafnode server and let it update itself every day. But this downloads whole articles (and not the headers), which results in much network traffic and many gig's on my disk which I don't need.

Does someone know/use a different solution?

Thanks,  Vince
