I have a very basic logon script going that sets time to the server and maps a number of drives for the users. All users are using windows xp pro. Roaming profiles is enabled
SME connects the users home directory to Z. The "My documents" folder remains on windows so the users have two directories to put their files to.
Can I use a logon script to make "My Documents" become "Z" or do I have to do this through policies.
If this is not possible then what is the purpose of the home directory "Z" as the contents of "My Documents" is always copied to the samba/profiles directory as it is. On reflection having all the files on both the computer and the server is a form of backup - if that is the case can you stop drive "Z" showing up.

The Home directory is the way you normaly designed a network storage profile in the old days when "My documents" didn't exist and offline storage was non existing or porly functional as well.
My recommendation is to move "My documents" to Z: and make a offline folder of it and change the registry so that "My documents" storage location is Z:.
The only thing I'm unshure about is it possible to remove "My documents" from the roaming profile?
