I have a SME 7 server that I'm testing and I can't seem to get back to the configuration program.
When I boot, it goes to a login screen - login as root & it goes to the # prompt -- login as admin and it just flashes a message real fast and kicks you back to the login screen.
If I try to putty my way in there with the admin login, it just closes the putty session.
So... since I can login as root, I assume I can just load up the config program by doing something like /bin/e-smith/config - but I don't know what/where the command is - any clues?
Thanks,

There is no SME 7, there's only SME 7 alpha. Please report all testing feedback to the bug tracker referenced from http://smeserver.sourceforge.net/. Please upgrade to latest alpha and search existing bugs before posting.
Thanks for your testing.

/sbin/e-smith/console while logged in as root did the trick in case anyone ever bumps into a similar situation with any version of SME. Tried it w/6.01 and it worked fine too.

As I said earlier, *any* problems at all with SME 7.0 alpha, please report to the bug tracker.

Charlie,
I did post it to sourceforge like you asked and got my answer there - thank you.
I was simply closing the loop here for anyone searching for that answer in the future. My specific question applied to all version of SME, not just 7.
Thanks,
