I'm working with the EZMLM-Mailinglist for quite a time now. It suddenly didn't work anymore so I uninstalled it and installed it again.
I use the following packages:
- e-smith-ezmlm-web-1.1.1-05.noarch.rpm
- ezmlm-idx-std-0.40-2.i386.rpm
- ezmlm-web-2.1-06.i386.rpm
- perl-Ezmlm-0.03.1-1.i386.rpm
They installed correctly but:
- Normally a directory /home/e-smith/files/EZMLM should be created. There isn't.
- I can create a new list, but when I want to add an adress, I get the following error:
A fatal error has occurred
Something you did caused this script to bail out. The error message we got was
Unable to subscribe to list: No such file or directory at /usr/bin/ezmlm-web.cgi line 481.
[/list]
What could be wrong?
-
I guess if the directory /home/e-smith/files/ezmlm is not there, something must have gone wrong during installation. Maybe you should install again, using the -v (verbose) option with rpm?
-
I get no errors when I use the -v option. That is the strange part.

Check permissions are correct on your ezmlm directories and files.

Hi Ray.
What are the right permissions (I tried ezmlm, but that also don't work).
I expected an error-message when permissions are wrong?

You did quote an error earlier
"No such file or directory at /usr/bin/ezmlm-web.cgi line 481."
It was a suggestion for you to check.
Usually ezmlm:ezmlm
or ezmlm:admin
Try installing to a test box and you'll see the correct permissions from that.
