Hi there
I tried to upgrade my sme 6.0.3B to 6.0.1 and after upgrade and restore from tape, I could not see any emails eventhough the files are actually there (/home/e-smith/files/users/"username"/Maildir/)
The users are created correctly after restore and there are no problems with logging in to ibays or to webmail.
I have checked the mysql database for data and horde.horde_users table is empty...should there be data here ??
Please advice :-)

Do you mean "fresh install of 6.0.1 and restore from tape"? You should only restore onto a freshly installed system. You're certain to break something if you take an in-use system (whether upgraded or not) and restore from tape onto it.

yes, the restore was made to a fresh install :-)

this is a well known problem, see
http://no.longer.valid/mantis/bug_view_page.php?bug_id=191
The user and groupname of the mail files are not correctly restored, you need to go through them and "fix" them. Look in a working system to see what has to be set.

thanks for the info, I actually found the bugfix notification half an hour before your post :-)
but thanks for the help, my emails are back! :-)

no problem

just wanted to say that using the normal flexbackup(no change from the default 6.0.1) i quiet a few problems after restoring from tape:
1. no emails - i had to change owner for ever user(alot of messing around)
2. problem with roaming profiles
i still havnt solved this - i was told to try logout of the admin on every client, change the computers name and log back on by then i get more erorrs - so if some one can help me with that i will apriciate it.
thanks

Can someone tell me what the fix is for this problem? I have the same problem the emails are there but I cannot access them. Also I cannot send or receive new emails. I restored on a fresh SME 6.01 system too.
The link above is dead.
Thanks

the problem is the permissions on the maildir and subservient directories and files, look at a "working" system or mailbox to see what they ought to be.

Yes. I discovered that all the user accounts have permissions of admin:admin. This is a problem with flexbackup that comes with SME 6.01. If you update your flexbackup program this issue does not occur on the restore.
So install SME 6.01 fresh.
Install yum
Install all updates "yum update"
The run the restore from tape.
