Hello,
I installed the 7.0 (7.1) beta on my laptop.
But after some rebooting and loggin in I don't get a manager-menu.
Is there any configuration in root for X that I can use?
I already search in usr/bin/X11 but no scripts where there.
I would like try 6.01 now and I hope for better results.
Thanks

X is not installed and it is not recommended to be installed either due to security issues, this is a server not a workstation.
On the server console there is no GUI server manager available only a text based server manager.
Log in as admin and select server manager option or whichever other option you want eg Configure this server.
To access the server manager GUI you do that from a Windows workstation connected to the server(laptop) LAN.

sme 6.0.x functions in much the same way as 7beta1, no X and the server manager GUI is accessed by web browser from a Windows workstation on the LAN.
The text based server manager is available from the console after you login as admin.
PS Have you read the manual for sme 6.0.x, I think you should. Although a lot has changed in sme 7betax, the functionality & concepts are similar.

I notice that after rebooting you get the promt for admin and password. By the fist install it works and I get the acces server-menu. But by rebooting I can't loggin after the prompt admin and password.
Therefore I was asking in which script I can changed the settings for the " server-manager menu " if there are any.
Thanks, I will install the 7.0 again because it support the driver for my laptop.

Everething is working fine now on my laptop.
I upgrade the 6.0.1 with the cd-upgrade from 7.0.
