followed instruction of fax service setup by http://www.chaloner.ca/article.php?story=20020922165153832, i am looking around the http://www.chaloner.ca/downloads/relayfax/relayfax.taras mentioned by the chaloner, is it need for the smeserver to use?

Apperantly, this file is not longer at the site, does anyone has this file, please help.

Hi.

You dont need the relayfax scripts to run hylafax on SMEServer.

However - if you want to try them out => Link (http://www.goldtel.com.au/howto/upload/relayfax1.tar)

Thanks duncan, does it mean that do i still need to create the "relayfax" user account for the smeserver?

please advise.

If you want to use relayfax to submit faxes to hylafax then the answer is yes.

Create the user
Untar the package and overwrite everything in the relayfax directory.

Otherwise - no.

what is the best windows fax client for the hylafax fax server to use?

using the relayfax, first, i need to spool the document to the relayfax client, then, open up the relayfax client to confirm the fax job to send out.

Am i doing the right way? or is it any program allows us to send fax job easily....

After installed the relayfax.tar, i hv received email by 'relayfax@zzz.com' said "FAX ERROR: You do not have permission to fax."

Pls help.

I use the smerp fax contrib for sme, it installs perfect and i can use a ghostscript printer on alle mij windows clients to send faxes. The incomming fax is placed in my email box.

does it does userid/passwd auth for sending out faxes?

You need to add the username/password to the faxuserlist.

yes, i do add the name/passwd for this file at /home/e-smith/files/users/relayfax, file named: faxuserlist

[root@ns1 relayfax]# more faxuserlist
john@apc.com testing
[root@ns1 relayfax]#

Over the RelayFax SMTP Client 6.5.1 -> Server Settings:

My server requires authentication is tick
Account name: john@apc.com
Password: testing

Relayfax account email address: relayfax@apc.com

is anythg that i have missing?

Not sure - I rarely use it anymore. Make sure there are no carriage returns "newline" after the password.
