Title: Remote accessing
Post by: wwwolf3004 on August 30, 2005, 12:08:00 AM
This is my second post. The first one recieved no response. This is my first time getting a server running (html so far.) It appears to be working fine.

Here is my second question. How can I access and even install programs remotley(local area network,) on the computer I am using as a server? If there is already a thread or some info on this please point me to it. Thanks.

HI,

From my windows machine i am using PuTTY to go to the server and do everything I have to.  Log in as root to install etc, log in as admin for setup etc.

Just remember to log into http://(server-name)/server-manager first and in the Security section setup your Secure Shell Settings.

Hi

Maybe this thread (http://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=28445.0) could help you too...

It does help. I had found out about PuTTY yesterday and I think I will give WinSCP a try also. Thanks.
