Title: qmail problem
Post by: adolfas on August 30, 2005, 04:13:38 PM
Hi,

I have problem with qmail. I get server error

The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server. The rejected e-mail address was 'adolfas@nese.lt'. Subject '', Account: 'admin@vox.lt', Server: 'mail.vox.lt', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '553 Sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts.', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 553, Error Number: 0x800CCC79

I go to /var/qmail/control/rcpthosts but vox.lt is there. Restarted qmail, but it doesnt help.
Any help? thanks

Hello,

Are you in the vox.lt domain when you are trying to send this? Or are you trying to do this while connected to another network other than vox.lt?

qmail by default does not allow relaying and this is what you are seeing. You will probably want to install the smtpfront-qmail rpm so you can do smtp auth.

No, you have a problem with your use of the server.

But nese.lt is not, right?

You can only relay via the server when you are connection to its local network/networks (either physically, or via a VPN connection). You cannot relay via it from the Internet.
