Title: Usage and load tracking
Post by: persisto on August 31, 2005, 11:35:37 PM
Hello,

I've installed SME a week ago (following previous efforts with IPCOP (18mths), ClarkConnect (1 week)  and Mandrake (12 mnths) for a home network of 4 PC's) I like it a lot for its features and the fact that the soft and documentation are a oriented toward Server functionality without seeming to be religious about Linux.

The one thing I miss (from previous experience) is the long term usage and load tracking (and graphs on the Web interface) as in IPCOP.
Considering that SME will often run on less than state of the art hardware, seeing how performance keeps up (or not) with various levels of use, would be a very useful addition to the Server-Manager interface.

Many thanks to the people who spent their time on the product and support

Pete

Since there was no reaction to my suggestion I started looking if I could find my own solution. I found based on rrdtool which corresponds exactly what I would like to see on my Server, included on:

demo:

Including this on my SME server goes beyond my capabilities and availability, but would it not be nice? :-D

Do you have SME 6.0.1?  If so, this looks like the same thing:

And you can also use sme6admin from Landry (http://firewall-services.com/cgi-bin/index.pl).

here you can find the install howto (http://firewall-services.com/sme6admin-howto-en.html)

and the documentation (http://firewall-services.com/sme6admin-doc-en.html)

Excellent, thanks for the answers. :-)

I tried both, (both easy to install) and settled on sme6admin (a bit more info and integrated into Server-Manager.)
