Title: dig in sme 7
Post by: hanscees on August 31, 2005, 11:46:47 PM
Hi,
I opened a bugreport for 7beta2 twice about this, but someone removed it without any consultation. Pretty annoying.

However, I would like to see sme 7 to have "dig" aboard so I can troubleshoot normally with dns.

It was removed because it duplicated an already open bug  (1264555). As was mentioned to you in the email message which sourceforge sent to you.

Pretty annoying.

As is people wasting my time, for example, by not searching, and not reading their email. :-)

Mail from "here" is not the issue. You should have received email from sourceforge. But you could also have checked in the sourceforge bug tracker to see why your duplicate bug reports were closed.

Just for the record, dig is still not in sme 7beta4.

However, the tinydns tools are these:

http://cr.yp.to/djbdns/tools.html

dnsip (dig www.nu.nl)
dnsipq (dig nu.nl)
dnsname ipaddress (dig -x)
dnsmx nu.nl (dig mx nu.nl)
dnstxt nu.nl

You also need bind-libs, as detailed in the bug tracker.

Please, please, please report issues to the bug tracker, and only to the bug tracker. We keep that up to date with workarounds and fixes.
