I have a very interesting question about the SME server...
I have a client who has 6000 SME server, is hosting a website and has several user that you can FTP into.
Okay now the dilemna..
She wants to have a page for EACH user that they can FTP into to edit..(I know easy solution cuz I do it all the time).. BUT!!!
Her website is in the primary so I figure I will just do a 'bounce' page over to a page in the users FTP directory.
But I can't do it. Give me a 'forbidden'.. which means the permissions are set wrong..
I cannot find a way to change the permissions to the 755 I need to do.
if you would like to see what I am talking about here is the page to play with.

ANY help would be greatly appreciated since this is a rush job.
Or if you need any more info let me know.

If the users should be "changerooted" in their ftp dir, dungog.net has a solution for that, look for "Remote User Access". Otherwise i don't understand your "bounce page", is this a symlink or a html redirect?

Justasien,
SME does not have user webspace available by default. Unless the user webspace contrib is installed there is no way you can access /~user
