Title: Changing Password Strength to None
Post by: chuckycharms on September 08, 2005, 07:37:19 PM
Hello,

I am migrating users from an external email server to in house at an educational institution. These users already have passwords, and they are the same as those that are their netware passwords. Basically that can't be change, well not easily. Some of them do not meet the criteria for a strong password. Is there a way to allow even weak passwords? I did find one thread on here that gave a command on how to do this, but it did not seem to work. I am running SME 7.0b2 for testing purposes.

Thank you for any help anyone can provide!

Hey - I figured it out, just a syntax error on my part. But for others that need help, here are the commands I used.

/sbin/e-smith/db configuration setprop passwordstrength Users none

/sbin/e-smith/db configuration setprop passwordstrength Admin none

/sbin/e-smith/db configuration setprop passwordstrength Ibays none
