I wanted to report successfully installing Beta on this this configuration, which is is a /very/ new DELL server.
Dell PowerEdge 850, which is the new dual core Pentium D. The unit utilizes an onboard hardware RAID controller called "FlexRAID" and is an option when you build the unit out on the DELL configuration utility. It has a pair of 10k Ultra SCSI drives configured in RAID 1.
I was overjoyed to have 7.0 Beta 2 "see" the RAID controller immediately and move forward to the install without a hitch. The software saw the logical drive and went on with the install - awesome. No headaches!
After this success I threw caution to the wind and installed Gallery 2 into the Primary iBay. No issues of any weight, a few things to fiddle with.
All is looking very good.
Great works folks. The installer is very good at what it does.

I would like to install Gallery2 on my 7.0b2, is there anything special I should know or do before attempting this?? Is there a "Howto" for it somewhere?

But making some large assumptions, put the .iso into the CD drive and reboot on that .iso.
Unless there are some really nasty unknowns, the process should lead you by the hand as it builds your disk as the SME server.

I already have 7.0beta2 installed (and "really" like it).
What the question is, now that it is installed; I would like to install Gallery2 and "idyll" has succeeded with installing Gallery2.
After this success I threw caution to the wind and installed Gallery 2 into the Primary iBay. No issues of any weight, a few things to fiddle with.
What was the "fiddle" that he had to do? is my question.
Thanks in advance for the help, I really appreciate it and keep up the good work on this new 7.0 I look forward to the full release.

Were there any issues with 7.0beta2 recognizing the dual core CPU as two processors?
-
The old "notify me when a reply is posted" seems to be sporadic hence my late reply.
The fiddling pertained to getting the image processing programs into place, getting MySQL properly configured, sorting out some rather frustrating permissions which pertain to the way the iBays are constructed, etc.
The OS "saw" the dual core CPU as two CPUs.
I used the past tense as I had to go live and simply could not use the OS at that early stage of development. So idyll.com is not presently running live on this build.
