Title: Ukonline and SME server
Post by: slewis1972 on September 12, 2005, 09:29:26 AM
Ok - I built a mate a SME server about 6 months ago - and he loves it. Its used a a fileserver and it downlaodeds his email off Wanadoo ADSL in UK and then sends via there smtp server. Reason being - he has 2 laptops and likes to access his emails from both machines while at home - he has no remote access.

Anyway - he wants to move to Ukonline and they block:-

25, 80, 8080 and 3128.

More info here

Am I correct is he switches ADSl providers, his current email setup wont work?

Thanks

Scott

No, everything will continue to work just fine.  They're just preventing you from running your own SMTP server (25), web server (80) and blocking a couple of common proxy ports.
