I know that SME 7 is still Beta but how stable is it really?
I need to re-install on a new Server and would like to take the opportunty to upgrade. Can I safely use version 7 Beta in a production environment, i.e. as my company's Webserver? Or is it still too experimental to use safely?
I'm simply looking for other users opinions, so any advice is much appreciated :)

I think you know the answer ;-) Re-read the warnings here: http://smeserver.sourceforge.net/sme70/Downloads
You may want to quickly try out SME7beta2 on your server though to make sure the hardware is compatible, so you have one less thing to worry about when you do upgrade.

You spoilsport Gregswallow!!
Yeah, I guess you're right though. Better the devil you know eh?
I guess I'll stick with 6, it's just that after applying all the updates and panel extensions I don't want to spend ages setting it up only to hear that the SME 7 official release is imminent!
Thanks for bringing me back down to earth but it was fun to believe I could fly nevertheless! :)

P.S.
Whichever version you use, SME is a cracking product, long live Open-Source! :-D
