Title: Restore backup smeserver.tgz from console
Post by: halinux on September 15, 2005, 03:48:13 PM
Hi!

I'm very new in SME server.

- I installed it from cd
- mount my floppy with smeserver.tgz (backup file) from console here: /mnt/floppy/smeserver.tgz
- How can restore from here?
With the 'console' command I couldn't restore it.

Another question:
If I install from cd with smeserver.tgz backup in the server floppy, I have to run the configuration procedure (domain name, network settings etc.), but it's in the floppy in backup file! How can I tell to the setup program to read settings from floppy?

Thanks a lot,
Halinux

If its a recover disk created with server manager, you should boot of the floppy, not from the cdrom when reinstalling.

Why don't you want to use the "restore from desktop" feature?
