Title: Can not access my website - SME Server Beta 7
Post by: tore on September 16, 2005, 09:31:28 AM
Installed it last night.  During installation I was asked to enter my domain where installation suggested companyname.locale. Here I entered coxkvalheim.com.  When I after installation typed in www.coxkvalheim.com, the browser told med site could not be shown. I can ping the address from my xp machine, but when I ping it from the server, it comes up with "Host unknown"any settings to make it accessible from the web, or have I done something wrong somewhere??

You say you can ping from your XP client, which address was that?

Making it accessable from the web would require you to register the domain (still, you shouldn't have a problem pinging or accessing webpages on the server from that same server or the local network..).

You may also want to check the bugtracker to see about any bugs involving dns...

Thank you all.

Problem solved.  Faulty router, now replaced - and website is working.
