Title: Dyndns Client
Post by: ikonos on September 23, 2005, 09:28:02 PM
Hello!
I want to place my SME Server (6.5 RC1) behind a NAT.
By reason, that I have got a dynamic IP from my provider, I have to update my Ip, at least all 24h.
Well, my question is, are there any problems, with the dyndns client of dyndns.org, does it give my real internet ip or just the lan ip?

thank you for answering

The way I have done this for a few years is to make a cron job that will access and update a dns configuration page. This method works for all kind of Linux distros (if the external dns server support it).

I use dyndns.dk for this. Don't know for sure if it can be done this way at dyndns.org.

Best reg Arne.

Search for ddclient.
I use this on my SME 6.01 behind a router, since my DSL Router does not update my dyndns record correctly.
