Hi,
My vpn connections works fine, exept that no matter which user I use to make the connection with, I always get the admin folder as home directory.
What is it that I am not getting?? :-?
I am making a VPN connection at home with windows XP professional to the server at work.
Hope somebody knows the answer, cause my search on the forums didn't give me the answer yet..
That is, if I gave the right words to search for ;-) ...

The VPN itself doesn't give you a home directory, it just creates a network connection. A bit like plugging a cable into a socket.
You only have a home directory when you connect via a higher level protocol - ftp, ssh or windows file sharing, for instance. You might be using a different username and password for that connection - I'd guess it would be windows file sharing - perhaps you are logged into your windows PC as admin, with the admin password.

Thanks for replying.
But on my pc at home I use a login name on my local pc, not connected to any domain or server.
Lets say as Paul ;-) , and then I make a VPN connection to the server at work.
There I log in as John for example.
The only shares at \\server_IP_aaddress are the shares for Primary, Admin and Printers.
My own home directory isn't visible.... :cry:

You need to change your Windows logon method to suit networking rather than local accounts ie with a user name and password.
Create a local account using the same username and password combination as you wish to access on the sme server.
Then you need to logon to your WinXP Pro using the same username & password as you have on your remote sme server.
You can also use that combination to establish the VPN connection, but it doesn't matter which name/password you use to establish the VPN connection, any valid sme account will do.
The Windows login information is passed to sme and you will see your home folder as well as all other shares if you do:
\\serverIP
