Title: Backup - mail
Post by: yehaah on September 28, 2005, 07:58:05 AM
Our mailserver at work needs replacement, and I'd like to migrate from M$ to SME as it seems to do the job with out problems.

But how do I backup the users mail boxes and kan i make a back up of all the users (eg. .ldif)

Doing a search on backup would yield your answer..

I'm assuming you want to do this on the SME....
For just the user's do a search on "lazy admin"
http://no.longer.valid/mylinks/singlelink.php?cid=54&lid=383

for backup,
you can use the backup link in the server-manager.
It will back-up everything.....

I read someware that backups on more than 4GB was a problem, and that restoring more than 2GB's was a problem. Is this true?

Does a backup also make a backup of all users, ther passwords and mail?

Yes.. All configuration and user data...

[soapbox]
you really need to do a little reading of the documentation.  Most of what you are asking is already there...
