Is there some rhyme/reason why SME 6.5 doesn't
allow me to name my gateway/firewall computer?
I get the error:
Error: IP cannot be server IP or Gateway IP.
It is quite a pain having to point to it via an ip address and then confirm that the certificate doesn't match the url..
any suggestions?

could you explain what "doesn't allow" exactly means
you can name the box at the begining of the configuration stage after install is completed, or you can rename it at the admin cosole configuration option.

If you think anything is "wrong behaviour", then raise it as a bug in the bug tracker.

I don't think it is an error, i think it is intentional..
I believe that it is a behavior change since 6.0.1 as I can create a hostname and point it to my internal gateway without receiving this error.
Is there a way to bypass this behavior, or do i have to install a full blown dns server. (or go back to 6.0.1)

- When creating a new host name in the server-manger, Click on "Hostname and Addresses"
Click on "Add Hostname"
Create a local hostname - firewall
Select Domain Select Local
Click NEXT
Enter Local IP - 192.168.2.254
Click NEXT
SME responds with error in red box
Error: IP cannot be server IP or Gateway IP.
In this case, my gateway-- an ipcop firewall is that ip address..

Sure you think it is intentional. But you also think it is "wrong behaviour". Report it as a bug.

Well, you could report it as a bug and hope that someone fixes it.
