Title: best way to upgrade 7.0b4 to b5
Post by: jahlewis on October 10, 2005, 08:11:54 PM
Can I upgrade from 7.0b4 to b5 using yum?  if so, what/how can I accomplish this?

Or do I need to rsync the iso and do a cdrom upgrade?

thanks

Please use the specifically designed software installer in the server manager for any updates.

You may want to read Gordon's comments about one-way RAID in this thread:

He notes that should you wish to upgrade a single disk system to a mirrored RAID system in the future, a CD based upgrade is required.

A "Software Installer" update is fine from 7.0beta[1234] as the system will already be configured for one-way RAID. If you do a "yum update", please remember to "signal-event post-upgrade" and "signal-event reboot" afterwards.

The CD upgrade is required if you are upgrading from 6.x or previously did so to get to 7.0beta.

I used the CD upgrade, and it worked flawlessly.
