Post by: Cyruz on October 11, 2005, 05:52:38 PM
Hello. I have just removed windows (  8-)  ) and now I run kubuntu..
I used to login to server manager with
Code: [Select]
/name-of-server/server-manager

This doesn't work in linux apparantly..

How do I get into server manager from linux ??

You are having a DNS issue.  Try this:
/ip_of_SME_Server/server-manager

The ip should be something like 192.168.0.??  Whatever your network is setup for.

That should get you there.  In Kubuntu, go to the networking menu and make sure your DNS is set to point to the SME Server.  Also, you may wish to add some host names for resolution on your Kubuntu box.  That will keep you from having to enter the new names.

I use Ubuntu and have found the auto DNS settings to not work well with SME...don't know why and have not really researched too much.

Hope this helps.
