Title: sme7b5 yum update & software installer
Post by: fixit on October 13, 2005, 10:40:06 PM
having some problems with yum & the software installer, I will post this on bug tracker as well.

I had 3 attempts at updating with the software installer and tried yum update which would say another copy of yum is already running, I assume that was because of the software installer was retrieving updates.

each time the software installer would keep getting the same updates.

do we have to run this command again, i did try this, but it seem to just hang there for ages, at least 20 minutes thinking about it

/sbin/e-smith/db yum_repositories setprop smeos GPGCheck no
/sbin/e-smith/expand-template /etc/yum.conf
/sbin/e-smith/yum_update_dbs

current error now

[root@server ~]# yum update

I got the same thing.  I updated via the software installer, then went to make the gpg changes, and got that message.  I thought it was something I did.  If you are going to file a bug report then I won't worry about it.  I'll try to reproduce it again.

This is the response i got from the bug tracker, apparently their down for an upgrade

Today is a busy day at mirrors.centos.org - Centos 4.2 was
released, and the hundreds of mirror sites are updating.  Try it
again tommorrow.
