Hi there,
for test purpose I need to stop SME from doing it's normal chores:
No proxy and no firewall.
From searching in the forums I found this to stop squid:
/sbin/e-smith/db configuration setprop squid Transparent no
/sbin/e-smith/signal-event remoteaccess-update
I also downloaded and installed a contrib to open firewall ports, but that will only help me once I know which ports to open. So I'm at a loss here (I am not into writing firewall rules yet...)
Or would you rather do
/etc/rc.d/init.d/iptables stop
/etc/rc.d/init.d/squid stop
Could somebody with more indepth knowledge of SME explain what to do and why, please?
Thanks Stefan

Configuring sme as Server only will disable the firewall.
Log in as admin to do this.
