Title: multiple VPN connections thru 1 IP
Post by: Chris Smith on November 27, 2001, 09:49:07 PM
Hi,

I have a remote site behind which sit two remote users. I have one using the pptp vpn connection perfectly. When the other tries to connect i get a ton of "buffering out of order packet" errors in my message log. The second box doesn't seem to connect correctly. (it connects, but i can't ping it etc). I think i am confusing the SME server box by connecting two vpns to it originating from the same IP addresss. Has anyone else seen this? Anyone have a solution?

Thanks,

Christopher.

The PPTP protocol does not support multiple connections originating from the same IP address.

I was able to do this with our (now retired) MSProxy Server. Are you absolutely sure? I'm not sure i can justify to my boss that i need another server to set up IPsec. I appreciate the response and im not trying to be difficult i just want to explore every option. Thanks!
