Title: pop before smtp
Post by: zaker on October 24, 2005, 10:59:52 PM
Is there anyway I can configure something like POP before SMTP on an SME 6.01 server??

Had a student send an email through the SME server via SMTP, and he doesn't have an account on the server. I never even thought of that happening, but it did.

It will not relay, but I need to stop unauthorized SMTP access.

Thanks
Tom

Do you have POP & IMAP access set to "public" in server manager/email panel ?
If so you should disable it as it is a security risk.

Install the secure email contrib from pagefault.org instead.
