Peakg,
Excuse me for asking the most obvious...
...You DO have generated an account with the dyndns provider of choice too ???
...Your SME is running gateway&server ?

In case you answer YES on both accounts, please notice
that we rather prefer to have more information on WHAT you did
(service name, how you setup, how it fails)
before trying to consult our crystal ball
:-D

Regards
Reinhold

Thanks for the correction Reinhold. I am totally new to this forum.

As I mentioned it is the 6.5 beta version and all the correct information was put into the configuration during the install. It is setup as a Server Gateway dedicated. An account was started with dyndns some time before the installation and I pointed the server to this account.
I tried to ping the dyndns.org address later on and it timed out so I set up a different address and reconfigured the server. This address is also not working.
 :-(

peakg,

What does dyndns.org say about your registration ?
i.e.  does it list an ip for your registered account under:
https://www.dyndns.com/account/services/

Thanks for the help Reinhold. The problem was that I didn't send the original IP address and push the "update service" button. My inexperience showing :-?
It works fine now

peakg,

Congratulations...and a late welcome :pint:
"Inexperience" imo is a good thing. - Its much harder if you are "supposed to know"
 :hammer:

Enjoy your SME6.5
