Title: Test Generator of sorts
Post by: wallyrp on November 01, 2005, 09:28:32 PM
Good Afternoon,

I'm trying to put together a test generator of sorts utilitizing PHP and MYSQL. I have found a survey type of thing that asks questions in different ways. The complete how-to is here: http://www.zend.com/zend/tut/tutorial-jenkins.php

I have worked to put it together with some success but being in the raw form that it is, putting it in front of a school teacher would be catastrophic.

I've looked at Random Test Generator Pro which is like $50 per computer. This is way too pricy for most school budgets. Would there be anyone out there that could put this thing together so it would accomplish these basic things?

1. Easy interface for entering student names, questions and answers with options of:
a. True/False
b. Multiple Choice
c. Type your own / essay type of answer.
2. Randomize these questions into a test format.
3. Save this information back to the database.

Example, teacher comes in, opens browser to page to put in questions and answers. Student names would be nice but not a necessity. At least have a place in the test page for a student name though.
After the teacher puts in the information, students browse to the test site and fill in the answers. After finishing, students submit their tests so the teacher can print and grade them.

If your interested but won't do it for free, give me a quote and I'll take it to the powers to be.

On another note, I think this would be another great product for SME and integrating it into education. I know that SME is geared for small businesses but I'm continually looking for more and more ways to integrate it into schools.
