Hello all:
We have, in the past, used the e-smith-adduser.sh script as presented at http://myezserver.com/docs/mitel/addusers-howto.html. It has worked fine for us. However, yesterday we tried to add a batch of students to our SME5 server, and got the following error:
[root@smenu /root]# . e-smith-adduser.sh
: command not found
: command not found
bash: e-smith-adduser.sh: line 22: syntax error near unexpected token fi'
bash: e-smith-adduser.sh: line 22: fi'
[root@smenu /root]#
Does anyone have any suggestions for us? Or has anyone experienced similar problems with this script?
We have tried the following:
Installed SME5 on a fresh machine, ran the script, had the same error.
Ran the script on an e-smith 4.1.2 server and had the same error.
Cheers,
Mike

hello Michael,
Yes I have had this problem and it turned out that I was not saving the file to unix format. if using a windows box and using notepad/wordpad it leaves eof line makers ect. I am now using notetab light and the export feature to unix file format. I hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply, that did the trick!
Have you tried adding users into groups using that script at all? I'm in the midst of trying that out and have run into some difficulty. I'm also trying to set the user's passwords to their birthdate by default (then forcing a change on first login).
Cheers,
Mike

I would be interested in any more info for this. I help out at a school, and the password idea is a good one!
Are you having the users change thru the web interface? I forgot about that. Need to look again.
