Title: reverse dns PTR record

Remote host said: 554 We do not accept mail from hosts without a reverse dns PTR record

this is a message i am seeing more and more when i try to send emails. Does anyone know how i can rectify this?

.. this prob stems from you DNS (domain) hosting service not providing this feature in the record configuration.

Contact whoever hosts your domain record and ask them to resolve it.

If you control your own domain DNS stuff via Zoneedit (et al) then it is up to you to create the record yourself.

Your ISP holds reverse lookup as they own the IP. Only they can alter the reverse records.

Zoneedit etc can only do forward lookups as they don't own the IP.

You can sidestep the issue by forwarding mail via your ISP's mail server.

Contacted my ISP and it was done by midnight.
