Title: Lucent Winmodem
Post by: Wolff on December 01, 2001, 04:59:48 AM
Hi all you Linux experts
I have a little problem
I want to use a Lucent based modem for my E-Smith server 4.1.2
Yes i know it is a Winmodem but some one wrote a package for it (downloaded it here http://www.physcip.uni-stuttgart.de/heby/ltmodem/redhat/6.00a/ltmodem-kv_2.2.16_22-6.00a1-1.i386.rpm)
And after installing it i get a the messages that he linked linked the lucent modem to /dev/modem and that he made the device /dev/ttyLT0  and also that he is using modules.conf file

Does anyone knows how i setup the E-Smith server to use the Lucent modem?

Yes iam a newbie

Thanxxx and greetzzzz

Don't take it the wrong was but, I would spend the $60 or so for a hardware modem to save a lot of headaches down the road.
