Title: server-manager remote access
Post by: Michael Gilpatric on December 04, 2001, 09:28:30 AM
Hate to beat a dead horse... but,

I cannot get https access to the server manager.  I have a Cayman DSL router and static IP addresses on both my workstation and my server.  I know I have a problem with port 80 getting through my router from the WAN side, but it should not affect wy workstation access because it is on the same, (LAN) side of the router and are subneted the same.  So my workstation should be local, (?).  None the less I have set up a validfrom address of my workstation using "/sbin/e-smith/db configuration setprop httpd-admin ValidFrom xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx", but can still not access server-manager from my workstation using https://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/server-manager.  I can get to server manager from the console on both the server and useong ssh (secure telnet) from my workstation.  What am I missing?

(thanks for your help)

Thanks, I had already tried this.  What I found out was that my 4 port Cayman DSL router was not allowing port 443, even inside my own network.
