Maybe (?...HA!) its a MS thing but here goes....
I have an SME Server set up (7.0) and several win 2k clients connecting to it. Its only to be used as a fileserver.
When I create an I-bay and assign a particular group to it, everything is fine. If I add a user to the group, that new user cannot access the I-bay specified for the group until I reboot the SME server. The same thing happens in reverse if I remove a user from a group. The user still will have access to that I-bay until the server reboots.
Is there a way to restart some sort of service in order to not have to reboot the server whenver I modify a group?

/sbin/e-smith/signal-event ibay-modify <ibayname> should do the trick.
However you shouldn't need to do this when adding a user in Server Manager. I haven't had any issue with this. Which beta of SME 7 are you using?
If it's beta 8, you should search in Bugzilla for a bug about this, and add one if it isn't there already.
If it isn't you should upgrade, and see if it is still happening. Good Luck!
