Hi,
I've never changed any of the hardware in my SME server - if I'm replacing my DVD-ROM drive with a DVD-R/W drive, do I need to perform any further reconfiguration?
I want to use Acronis True Image and intend to write the resulting image to the DVD.
Also, I currently have a Tape Drive and SCSI card installed. If I remove these (I run a 911 Backup2WS every day also, and that in combination with Acronis is enough backup I think), do I need to reconfig? If so, how?
I'm running SME 6.01 with yum updates and some additional contribs.
Thanks,
Andy Cocker

You shouldn't need to.

That looks to be Windows software, and won't run on your server.

Thanks for your response Charlie.
Yes, I know it's windows software. I plan on using the Acronis bootable CD option to make/restore SME backups, as I believe others here have done.

Acronis works fine from a bootable disk (So does Ghost) but I have never had much success getting it to write to DVD's reliably.
Maybe you have a few useful pointers.
