This is a log that shows performance of a tapeware backup log from a Linux Server we recently installed.
It is using an IOMEGA USB REV Drive, I am shocked at the performance, it does not seem possible?
This machine is backing up 13GB in like 20 minutes, full verify?
Effective Throughput : 9639 Kbytes/Second
: 564 Mbytes/Minute
Selected Objects : 74526
Selected Size : 12878212 Kbytes

It is possible and expected.
I am using second EIDE hardrive for backups (with Tapeware) and geting even faster speed.
Effective Throughput : 13811 Kbytes/Second
: 809 Mbytes/Minute
Selected Objects : 107717

Hi Boris, it blows me away, a real treat.
A second server however, still SME 6.0.1 and same rev drive, is reporting:
Effective Throughput : 1660 Kbytes/Second : 97 Mbytes/Minute
That server backs up less data than the first, takes 3 times longer.

It could be due USB speed (v 1 vs. USB 2) or harddrive performance (DMA), or just CPU speed (for compression)
