Check out linux.ntfs project
http://www.linux-ntfs.org

Download and install module for your kernel version
http://ftp.heanet.ie/pub/sourceforge/l/li/linux-ntfs/

Good luck

Henry,

Did it work for you ?

I want to do the same thing, but installing the NTFS kernel gave an error (unresolved symbols in lib/modules/2.4.20-37.7.legacy.....)

Assuming we are talking about SME7

Support for NTFS is not included in RHEL so a kernel recompile will be required.

You end up with a non standard SME7 server.

Writing to NTFS partions from Linux is asking for problems, so any drive you use, will probably have data errors once you return it to a native Windows machine.

Maybe a FAT32 formatted hard disk is a much easier option, unless you can get Microsoft to add ext3 into Windows.
