Title: Hardware and Software Auditing software for Linux
Post by: mapangojoe on December 22, 2005, 07:42:35 PM
Hello All.  This question is slightly off topic.  I have a customer running a SME server with 65 or so Linux and Windoze PC's connected to it.  I am in need of some type of hardware and software auditing software that supports   both platforms.  I would prefer an open source solution if possible, but I am not opposed to using closed software to get the job done.

Some time back I read about a French company that produced an open source application that would do multi-platform auditing, backup management, and other management tasks, but I have not been able to find them again via google.

Anyone who may have done this or has a suggestion feel free to bestow your wisdom on myself (and the world at large)

Thanks

Chris Curtis

http://ocsinventory.sourceforge.net/

OCS Inventory is an open source inventory tool.
But I believe it only works on Windows.

it is an excellent tool for performing software audits.

Hi

I´m trying to get it working... but it appear to want to modify httpd.conf directly to include perl configurations... and do not work.

When I could do it work... it show nothing.

Using latest(1.01) version directly from site + setup.sh script.

Anyone has a package/rpm/howto/notes about this?

Thanks

Jáder
