Title: sharing SME images via torrent

I've being thinking that maybe it could be possible to share SME iso images by downloading as ".torrent" files, so it could be faster and less bandwith consuming for contribs site and mirrors.
md5 sum check should be a must in this case, as always
maybe it's an stupid idea but who knows.....
(sharing with the forum is the first step to test ideas)

so:  could it be implemented?

to make it clearer...
torrent file download system (a kind of p2p)  makes available files every user is downloading to any other user interested in the same file, so an iso file could be spreaded as soon as first user begins downloading multiplying sources geometricaly.
I think it could be very useful when new releases are uploaded to contribs site or mirrors....
openoffice site uses this method with positive results.

Yes, I agree with that. Can I make & post the .torrent file into this forum?

Yes, you can make the ISO available via BitTorrent - it's a GPL release. But, let's get this on the downloads page, rather than lost in the forums. Please do the magic and then contact 'staff' so we can make it happen. Thanks.

Alll we need now is a howto to install torrent software on sme server so we can assist in the dowload torrent
