A little off topic, but someone here must know the answer..
I have my Windows XP laptop with two connections to my SME Linux box -- one IP for the wireless card (192.168.0.100) and one IP for the wire (192.168.0.101)
If I have a drive mapped to the SME server \\192.168.0.1\Primary -- How can I get specify that I want the traffic to use the wire since it is faster? And when I disconnect, I'd like it to use the wireless.
I know I can disable/enable adapters and that works fine -- but can I just set it up one time and not worry about it?
Thanks,
Chris Buechler

Block the ports for samba on your wireless connection?! That will force your client to look for the service on the wired.
Even if you implement different network protocols, I don't think you can determine route paths based on speed, only on availability or metrics.

IF you use the XP wireless network connection manager, & don't store the wireless password on the XP, you;ll only have a live wireless connection when you select the network & enter the password.
(several assumptions here, but I hope you get the idea! )
