Title: Webmail - non ssl
Post by: Seeker on January 13, 2006, 06:58:53 PM
The docs state:

Enabled (secure HTTPS access only) - Allows users to connect only through a secure SSL connection. This is strongly recommended because a regular HTTP connection transmits your mail account password across the network (or Internet) in plain, unencrypted text.

Enabled (HTTP or HTTPS) - Allows your users to connect through a secure or an insecure web connection.

However on my webmail activation dropdown I only have Allow HTTPS (secure) only. How do I modify the server to allow non secure access?

What version?
I'm on 6.0.1 and it has both choices, http or https.

I guess it would have been helpful to include that info. I'm using SME Server 7.0pre1

Hi just wondering if anyone got a solution to this one, i would like to be able to connect to webmail through HTTP as the HTTPS port is already taken up by my firewall (IP Cop), Thanks in advance  :-D

Sorry scratch this, I just found out I know very little about port numbers IP cop uses port 445, all i had to do was fordward port 443.  :hammer:
