Hi there
I've got a client who's still running Novell Netware 3.12, 5 user licence. They want to add an extra workstation, and therefore have a 10 user licence for their Novell.
I have already submitted a quote for upgrading their Novell over to SME Server, but added the option of an evaluation server first, should they want to have a look at it first before taking the plunge. I'm planning to install 6.5 RC1
Transferring data from Novell 3.12 to SME will take a while because I'll need to copy the user and program data, create new user accounts and the such, and also set up the windows workstation, but these should be pretty straightforward.
The snag will be in moving the data from the evaluation server to the full-time server should they decide to go for it. I've found a thread here (http://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=27332.0) and want to know whether anybody was in the same situation.
Also, is there any gotchas I should be aware of, because I can't think of any at this stage... and I really do hate funnies... :D
Just want to prepare myself for the task at hand should the quote be accepted.
A big :pint: to all who've made SME Server such a success!

I put my 2 cents worth on that thread and I still think backup to and restore from tape is the best.
