Title: how do I download files to directories or ibays

Hi,
I am still trying to download vtiger.  how do I download applications (like vtiger) from my desktop to the ibay file directory.

what do I exactly.

I have been searching everywhere here and on google and I cannot find out how to do it.

Hi Amy,

If you have the ibay mounted on your computer as a share then you can drag and drop it into the ibay of your choice. If you have a *nix type box then you can use 'scp' to transfer it over to the ibay or if you have a windows box you can download 'winscp' and connect to your server and copy it over that way.

If you are going to do anything with SME that is even slightly outside the basics, a copy of Putty and WinSCP are essential tools. As the previous post suggests, you can copy VTiger to your iBay with WinSCP then use putty to install it, all from you Windows Workstation.

Guys, Thanks for drawing my attention to WinSCP. I never knew it existed. I've been struggling with FTP'ing into an ibay, then using PUTTY to move the file elsewhere on the SME box.

This will make life lots easier (for web admin especially) as I deny FTP from outside the local network. I've just got SSH shared keys working from the entire internet, and have turned off password logins. Just tried WinSCP with my private key and it works a treat.
