Title: Add DNS entry
Post by: nicoguilbert on January 19, 2006, 11:48:00 AM
Hi,

My SME server is in a DMZ. I would like to receive email on it and to forward it to my exchange server on my local network.
The domain of sme server is like domain.ath.cx, the domain of exchange et like domain.local.

I have added domain.local in SME. But if I run nslookup domain.local, I have the IP address of sme instead of exchange IP address.
And if I run dig MX domain.local I have sme.domain.ath.cx in result.

Can I configured DNS entry manually and how to do it.

Thanks for help !

Put the IP address of your exchange server in the delegate mail server entry in the mail config panel. No need to do anything with DNS.

That's not what I want, if I do what you say I have no copy in SME. I want SME to keep all incoming mails and to forward to Exchange server.

You'll need to do more customisation to achieve that (I don't know what, off-hand). But you still won't need to do anything with DNS.
