I am finding that the Spamassassin information is almost impossible to follow on the web.
Is there any one out there who agrees, ( or am I being thick)?
Any way adding a managment interface to this would be realy helpfull

Have you looked at Release 7? It contains such a page.

OK so I find the page to control the switch on and switch off of the top level features.
May be I am being thick or inelequant, but I what I am looking for is more control of the functionality such as the enabling/disabeling of the user_pref file usage. May be a buton that allows the editing of the user configurable files.
This feature exists with add an add on for the fetchmail program ( This is an excellent add on ).
I am using this as a domestic gateway and I have it set up to quite a high level of security.
I am trying to allow my wife to monitor and control some things such as checking what web sites our children view.
Being able to adapt the spam - email system is possible but only at the command line and that is a bit close to reality for her :-). It would also mean that she would have to walk down to the basment and lurk with the spiders in the mechanical room.

Hi Brian,
Thanks for the suggestions. You're quite right that they aren't there now.
Our current major development push is a stable release of 7.0. After that, we plan to spend time working on some of the great contribs out there with a view to pulling them into the base release.
I'm certainly looking forward to working with the people who have built those contribs. I hope they are looking forward to working with me :-)
