Well my system was set to autoupdate and I got around to doing the old reconfigure/reboot commands this evening
post-upgrade
reboot
and now NONE OF MY ADMIN ACCOUNTS CAN LOGIN!!!!! It claims for them all that the password is wrong which is nonsense as I was using it to access the server-manager right before I restarted. I've tried using putty from a remote machine even just to prove its not the keyboard thats faulty. Seems that all other users can login fine. I'm switching off auto-update after this because thats the last 2 that have screwed the server. The update on 31st Dec/1st Jan took down all access to webmail for staff from home until I could get in front of the server 5 days later and now with 15 new staff starting on Monday I cant add email accounts for them because the upgrades locked me out.
HELP!!!!!!!!

ok found out how to reset the passwords as below
at SME splash screen on reboot press CTRL-X select the kernel you want to load, press the 'a' key to append and type a space followed by the word 'single'.
now execute that selection. at command prompt type 'passwd' and enter the new root password. I then rebooted my server. This worked in that it reset my root user but I still had to manually go in and change my admin password. Anyhow I can get in again at least.
Now I just need to work out why I cant add new users and when I try to delete them it wont delete but if I try readding the user that seems to delete them from the server manager. So much for being pre release - the beta worked far better than this one for my setup at least.

There has been a few "nasty" issues with yum update, and as a result, automatic update is about to be phased out.
