Title: Proper shutdown
Post by: henrikmc on February 03, 2006, 04:49:29 PM
What is the proper commandline to be issued for a proper shutdown?

Issuing a "/sbin/shutdown now" dosent shut the machine down totally and i have to press the power button for it to shutdown. This results in a resynch on the raid1 mirror.

The shutdown from server-manager works, what is the command issued here?

/sbin/e-smith/signal-event halt

works for me. So does pressing the on-off switch once.
